Description	:	Carol Ann Naber The funeral for Carol Ann Naber, 54, of Aberdeen, was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, at St. Liborius Catholic Church in Polo. The Rev. Michael Schneider and Rev. Richard Ortmeier officiated. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Polo, under the direction of Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary of Aberdeen. Carol Ann Martinmaas was born to Werner and Mary (Schaefers) Martinmaas on November 19, 1935, in Faulkton. She attended St. Liborius Parochial School and graduated from Fairview High School in Polo. She graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing in 1956, and worked at St. John’s Hospital in Huron before moving to Anchorage, AK, where she was employed with the Native Service Hospital for two years. She returned to live in Orient and worked at Memorial Hospital in Redfield. In 1970 she moved to Aberdeen and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital, where she continued to work until she retired from nursing in January, 1990, due to il health. She considered her co-workers at St. Luke’s’ Hospital her second family, and they were with her in the final days of her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the South Dakota Nurses Association and the Right to Life organization. She is survived by her mother, Mary Martinmaas, of Polo; two sons, Louie and Russell Naber, both of Minneapolis, MN; two daughters, Jody Naber of Redding, CA, and Peggy Naber of Sioux Falls, SD; five brothers, Victor Martinmaas and Gerald Martinmaas of Polo, SD, Werner Martinmaas, of Sparks, NV, Edward Martinmaas of Aberdeen, SD and Robert Martinmaas of Omaha, NE; one sister, Mrs. Carl (Margie) Durfee of Plankinton, SD; and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. Casket bearers were her five brothers and her brother-in-law. Honorary casket bearers were all her co-workers at St. Luke’s Midland Regional Medical Center. Offertory gifts were presented by Vivian Meyer and Valerie Pfeifer. Mass servers were Eric Martinmaas and Tony Schaefers. Lector was Jack Schaefers. Leo and Todd Naber served as ushers. Organist, Betty Naber, and the church choir provided the music. A memorial has been established at the North Plains Hospice of Aberdeen.
