He was married 45 years to Lois (Martchinske) Martinmaas; after she passed away, he married Beverly, who survives him. Most recently Beverly and Bob lived at Richmont Village Retirement in Bellevue, NE; earlier they lived at Beaver Lake near Plattsmouth, NE. Mr. Martinmaas worked with architectural and engineering companies for many years: Leo A. Daly Architects, 16 yrs HDR Engineering Architects, 1 yr Farris Consulting Engineers, 9 yrs After retirement, he continued working as a consultant to Ferris, KP Engineering and Diamond Engineering Architects. He enjoyed the process of design and development. Heart complications took the life of Robert Martinmaas, 81 years of age. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, his daughter, Julie Opland; 2 brothers, Jerald and Werner, Jr. a sister, Carol Nabor, and his parents, Werner and Mary Martinmaas. Survivors are his wife, Beverly; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Debra (David) Johnson of Omaha, Deann (Jim) Ray of Shenandoah, IA, Jean (Mike) Zahm of Elkhorn, Nebraska; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott (Christine) Martinmaas of Phoenix, AZ, Andrew Martinmaas of Los Angeles, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends. After cremation, there will be graveside services at Holy Sepulchre on Nov. 15, in Plattsmouth, NE. In lieu of flowers or donations, Bob has requested provision for a Mass for him at your own parish, or that you say a prayer for him.
