She died Saturday in Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 14 days. Daughter of Roy and Clara Baumann Marran, she was born July 23, 1933, on a farm near Smith Center, Kan. She attended rural country school near Smith Center and Franklin High School. Daughter of Roy and Clara Baumann Marran, she was born July 23, 1933, on a farm near Smith Center, Kan. She attended rural country school near Smith Center and Franklin High School. Nov. 27, 1948, she was married to Bill Gering in Holdrege. This union was blessed with three children. She had lived in several communities during her lifetime, including Smith Center, Kensington, Beloit and Belleville, all in Kansas; Franklin, Wauneta, Chester, Geneva, Alma and most recently Superior, all in Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Gering had lived in Superior since 1963, moving here from Geneva. She was a past member of the Eagles Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her father and a brother, Royce Marran. She is survived by her husband, Bill; mother, Clara Marran, Franklin; two sons, Nicholas Gering and Zhonzie Gering, both of Superior; daughters, Mrs. Steve King(Angelia), Superior; step-son, Gerald Gering, Houston, Texas; a sister, Colleen Steinkruger, Minden; four grandchildren, Zhon Gering, Shelby Gering, Billie Jean Gering and April Harwell; five step-grandchildren, Kimberly, Gering, Jeff Gering, Billy Gering, Dawn Soper and Travis Soper; and many other relatives. Pastor Ken Fairbrother officiated at the services and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Source: Superior Express January 11,1990.
