Description	:	Dayton Review September 17, 1931 Obituary Carolina Albertina Hallberg was born July 14, 1846, in Ufvared [Uvered - now Järpås] Socken, Skaraborg lan, Sweden, and passed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adelbert Burke, at Humboldt, Iowa, last Friday afternoon, September 11, 1931, at the ripe old age of 85 years, 1 month, 27 days. She was reared to young womanhood in the land of her birth, and was there united in marriage to August Eklund, who preceded her in death, January 2, 1923. Read More	Dayton Review September 17, 1931 Obituary Carolina Albertina Hallberg was born July 14, 1846, in Ufvared [Uvered - now Järpås] Socken, Skaraborg lan, Sweden, and passed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adelbert Burke, at Humboldt, Iowa, last Friday afternoon, September 11, 1931, at the ripe old age of 85 years, 1 month, 27 days. She was reared to young womanhood in the land of her birth, and was there united in marriage to August Eklund, who preceded her in death, January 2, 1923. Their married was blessed with four children. The son and two daughters have also passed before her, Chas. A. Eklund, Mrs. Anna Anderson, and Miss Jennie Eklund. A daughter, Mrs. Nellie Burke survives. She is also mourned by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, beside other relatives and friends. In 1868, Mr. and Mrs. Eklund emigrated to America, settling at Rockford, Illinois, and moved from there to this community in 1872, settling on the old farm southwest of town. Upon retiring from active farm life, they moved into Dayton, where she lived until two years ago last April, when she moved with her daughter's family to Humboldt, for the remainder of her days. Her laster years have been spent with her daughter who gave her every care. She became a member of the Lutheran Church in Dayton in 1877, and was a faithful servant of her Lord until death. Her funeral services were held from the Lutheran Church in Dayton last Sunday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. Waldo Ekeberg, preaching the sermon. There was singing by the Lutheran Church Quartette. Interment was beside her husband in Dayton Cemetery.
