Description	:	Mrs. Lena Starr was born July 22, 1879 at Farragut, Iowa to Andrew and Johanna Elm. Her parents came to this country from Sweden in 1873 and settled for a while in Iowa and then in 1880, moved to Genoa, Nebraska, where they made their home. She received her education in the rural schools of Genoa. She was united in marriage to Ernest M. Read More	Mrs. Lena Starr was born July 22, 1879 at Farragut, Iowa to Andrew and Johanna Elm. Her parents came to this country from Sweden in 1873 and settled for a while in Iowa and then in 1880, moved to Genoa, Nebraska, where they made their home. She received her education in the rural schools of Genoa. She was united in marriage to Ernest M. Starr of Genoa on February 20, 1901, and to this union were born four children, Harry, who lived with his mother, and Mrs. Alta Whalen, Greeley. A daughter, Mrs. Vera Hughes of Burwell passed away in 1934 and a son, Bud of Belgrade died in 1957. The family had lived at Genoa, Belgrade, Fullerton and Burwell before they settled in Greeley county in 1930. She had been a life-long member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by her two children, a brother, John Elm of Genoa, Nebraska and five grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, who passed away in 1951, a daughter and son, her parents, three sisters and one brother. Mrs. Starr passed away Monday evening February 26 at a Spalding Hospital following a lingering illness. She had attained the age of 82 years, 7 months and 4 days.
