Description	:	Obituary submitted by Peggy Bargen Duey. Caroline Anna Meyer Dittmer, daughter of Henrich and Gesene Alberts Meyer, was born Dec. 17, 1903, at Ottersburg, Germany. She died May 1 in the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 15 days. Mrs. Dittmer received her education in the public schools in Germany. She died May 1 in the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 15 days. Mrs. Dittmer received her education in the public schools in Germany. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in Germany. In the early 1920's she came to the United States. Feb. 17, 1927, she was united in marriage to Fred Dittmer. To this union two daughters, Henrietta and Deanna were born. She moved to the Byron community in 1927. Mrs. Dittmer was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, St. Peter ALCW of rural Byron and the Byron Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred, in 1978. Surviviors are her two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Grauerholz (Henrietta) of Hardy and Mrs. Jimmie Wittstruck (Deanna) of Omaha, two grandchildren, Mrs. James Sloan (Sandra) and Dana Grauerholz; and many other relatives. The funeral was in the St. Peter Lutheran Church of rural Byron Monday, May 4, at 10:a.m. conducted by Pastor Randy Gibbs. Interment was in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Superior Express, Thursday, May 14, 1987.
