HAVIL HART Caroline Carey Hart was born in Marion county, Ohio,, Nov. 12, 1853, and passed away suddenly May 23, 1925, at her home two and one-half miles southeast of Victor, Iowa, her age being 71 years, 6 months, and 10 days. She came to Iowa when a young woman and had lived here ever since. She was married to Havil Hart Dec. 20, 1875, and to this union were born six children: Mrs. Almeda Henry of San Jose, Calif., Walter of Brooklyn, Iowa, Mrs. Bertha Walter of Des Moines, Iowa, Logan of Rice Lake, Wis., Mrs. Carrie McCann of Grinnell, Iowa, and Benjamin of Brooklyn. Mr. Hart died six years ago. Mrs. Hart was converted about 39 years ago and with Mr. Hart united with the Methodist Protestant church of which she has been a member ever since. She was an excellent wife and mother, and as a neighbor and friend was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Her health has been failing in the last few years, but she was always very patient and uncomplaining and the end came as she slept in her room on the farm which she loved so well. She leaves to mourn their loss the children named, 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother Dolph Carey, of Ladora, two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the home Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. W. S. Kight of Des Moines, pastor of the M. E. church in East Des Moines and formerly of Ladora. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Victor.
