Langemeier Maiden Name = Caroline Dipper Obituary The Hooper Sentinel August 1, 1929 Pioneer Woman Called to Her Eternal Rest Last Wednesday morning, July 24, at 10 o'clock at the Scribner hospital occurred the death of another of the grand old pioneer women of this vicinity when Mrs. Caroline Langemeier, aged 81 years, was called to her eternal rest. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past nine weeks when she was taken there for treatment after a fall which resulted in a broken hip. Her advanced age made it impossible for her to rally from the effects of this accident which culminated in her death. Caroline Dipper was born at Rising Sun, Indiana, September 24, 1847, and died at Scribner, Nebr., July 24, 1929. She grew to womanhood at the place of her birth and was there united in marriage to H. H. Langemeier who preceded her in death about 14 years ago. They came to Dodge county 48 years ago and for nearly half a century this county was her home. For over twenty years she and her husband and family resided on a farm north of Hooper, moving to Scribner about 26 years ago. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Langemeier had been making her home with her children. She was the mother of nine children, three sons and two daughters surviving to mourn the loss of a loving devoted mother. They are George of Hooper; Harry of Wausa; Willie of Plainview; Mrs. Wm Schiermeier of West Point, and Mrs. Herman Nieman of Perham, Minn. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Langemeier was reared in the Lutheran faith and was ever active in the service of her church. She was a member of the Scribner Lutheran church and showed her true Christian spirit by her many acts of neighborly kindness and her devotion to home and family throughout the four score years of her life. Funeral services were held from the home of her son George, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and from the St. John Lutheran church northwest of Hooper at 2:30. The English part of the service was conducted by Rev. Lobeck of Scribner and the German part by Rev. Theo. Norden of St. Johns. A large concourse of relatives, friends and former neighbors were present to pay their last respects to the departed. Burial was made in the church cemetery. Nieman of Perham, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Langemeier and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Enquist of Wausa, Mr. and Mrs. Will Langemeier and son, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Langemeier, and Mrs. Kate Langemeier of Plainview, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schiemeier, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Will and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wickert and children, and Mrs. and Mrs. H. Wickert of West Point, Mr. and Mrs. John Schroeder and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schiermeier of Wisner, Mr. and Mrs. John Kassabaum of Fremont, and Mr. and Mrs. F. Lacker of Arlington.hhw
