Description	:	Caroline Elizabeth Eggerss was born to Wilhelm and Augusta Eggerss on May 13, 1890. She had seven siblings, six brothers and one sister. She married William Preuss on February 17, 1909, at her parents' home north of Shelby, and were snowed in for their honeymoon. They were blessed with four sons; Alvin, Lavern, Gerald and Edwin. Sadly, Laverne died as a young child. They made their home in Shelby, Iowa, and lived there all their married life. Read More	Caroline Elizabeth Eggerss was born to Wilhelm and Augusta Eggerss on May 13, 1890. She had seven siblings, six brothers and one sister. She married William Preuss on February 17, 1909, at her parents' home north of Shelby, and were snowed in for their honeymoon. They were blessed with four sons; Alvin, Lavern, Gerald and Edwin. Sadly, Laverne died as a young child. They made their home in Shelby, Iowa, and lived there all their married life. Caroline was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and made delicious meals for all her extended family when they came to visit for the holidays. She was proud of her large garden with strawberries and rhubarb, as well as many vegetables. She and William were members of the United Lutheran Church and celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in February of 1984. She lived to be 99 years old, and was still in her home until the final few months of her life.
