She was united in marriage to James Polk Nott January 1, 1867 at Eldora, Iowa. To this union were born 10 children, five sons and five daughters. She has lived to enjoy the pleasure of seeing these children grown to the full strength of manhood and womanhood, this being the first break in the family circle. Besides raising her own family, she raised a granddaughter, Joy Nott, to the age of fourteen years, who preceded her to the great beyond three years since. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and the children as follows; James Fred Nott, Council Grove, Kansas; Mrs. Y. A. Manion, Topeka, Kansas; Chas Nott, Council Grove; Mrs. Carl Finkenbinder, Custer City, Okla.; Jesse Nott, Council Grove; Luther Nott, Council Grove; Otto Nott, Council Grove; Mrs. Chas Dougan, Council Grove, Mrs. Jno Wilson, Council Grover; Mrs. Everett Sharpe, Council Grove. There are also 37 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and one sister and host of other relatives and friends. About three years ago she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she has never fully recovered. She was a true wife, and loyal faithful and true Christian mother, and was ready to go. Prov. 31-27-27; "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. "Her Children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." She has lived in and around Council Grove for the last 25 years and leaves a host of friends and neighbors besides her relatives. Her funeral was conducted from the Christian church at 2:30 by the pastor, Re. E. R.
