Description	:	The Tecumseh Chieftain, Mar. 7, 1931: "Carl and Carolina Hecht were the parents of Carolina Hecht, natives of Germany, and the last named was born at Schamberg, January 1, 1849. When she was seven years of age the family came to the United States, settling in Illinois. The early life of Carolina was spent at Fisher grove, in Cook County, where she attended the common school. When she was seven years of age the family came to the United States, settling in Illinois. The early life of Carolina was spent at Fisher grove, in Cook County, where she attended the common school. She was married to Fred Zuelke, at Elgin, July 7, 1872, and her husband died at the same place February 21, 1877. Her second marriage was to J. C. Woltemath at Ontarioville, Ills., March 20, 1879, and at that time, Mr. and Mrs. Woltemath came to Johnson County to establish their home. Mr. Woltemath departed this life on April 24, 1922. Of the five children born to Mrs. Woltemath, three are living and are in the order of their ages, Gustave Zuehlke of Tecumseh, Sophia, wife of August Heidemann of the Graf section, and bertha, wife of Albert Lehn, living here. Two children are deceased, Minnie Woltemath dying at the age of seven years and Henry Zuelke at the age of five. Herman Woltemath, living south of Tecumseh, is a step-son of the departed. In her final illness Mrs. Woltemath had been failing for a year or more, and was confined to her bed for three weeks, her ailment being cancer. Her home was five and one-half miles south and one-half mile west of this city. Mrs. Woltemath had been a member of the Lutheran church since childhood, and she was a devoted Christian woman. Her life had been spent in the interests of her family, and the surviving children will always have pleasant memories of her devotion and her loving care and consideration. The funeral was held at St. Peter's Lutheran church, southeast of Tecumseh at 1:30 o'clock, Monday afternoon, following brief services at the home. Rev. I. C. Heinicke, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services, and relatives and friends made many floral offerings. The interment was in the family lot in the cemetery near the church."
