Read More	Good Woman Gone Obituary Notice of Mrs. Caoline Hill Whose Death Occurred Last Week Miss Caroline Struve was born in Rock Island County, Ill., April 6, 1863. She came to Benton county, Iowa, with her parents in 1867, in the fourth year of her life. She grew to womanhood here and was married to Mr. Robert Hill December 14, 1881. After their marriage, they returned to Mr. Hill's native state of Pennsylvania where they resided for eleven years. They then returned to the community of Mt. Auburn, and for most of the time since have resided on the farm where she died. Mrs. Hill became the mother of three children, namely, James and Miss Elsie Hill of Mt. Auburn and Mrs. Emma Loveless of La Porte City. These, together with their father, bear the greater burden of this loss. Besides these there are four grandchildren left. There are two brothers and three sisters, who feel most keenly the loss of a sister beloved. They are Messers Carl and John Struve, of Mt. Auburn, Mrs. Theodore Holst of Fulda, Minn., Mrs. Hans Miller and Mrs. John Kruse, of La Porte City. Both of her parents, four brothers and two sisters have preceeded her in death. Her parents were Lutheran in their church choice, and she was trained and baptized by that church for Christian service December 12, 1911, after due consideration, she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Mt. Auburn. Because of sickness she was never able after uniting with this church, to take part in any of its public services, yet all were gladdened to have her as one of their number. She was a sister beloved of the Royal Neighbors of this place. The beginning of her last sickness dates back some three years yet it was only for the last five months that she was confined to her home. She was never bed fast. The death angel found her seated in her much beloved chair that loved ones presented to her on her last wedding aniversary. Last Wednesday, Feburary 28th she seemed in her usual health, buoyant in spirit and in her usual happy frame of mind, conversing interestingly about family affairs. After supper she leaned back in her chair for a little rest and slept peacefully for a time. At ten minutes to eight she gasped twice, and the end of which time her spirit passed peacefully away. The period of her earthly life, was 48 years, 10 months and 22 days. The funeral services took place in the Mt. Auburn M.E. church Saturday morning March 2nd, 1912. Rev. T.A. Timble officiating. A large number of friends were present to sympathize with the relatives of the deceased. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Interment was made in the Mt. Auburn cemetery. Newspaper unknown
