Burial will be in the Coon Rapids cemetery. The body is resting at the Huffman Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Knappenberger died in Carroll Sunday morning, Aug. 28. A daughter of Jacob and Mary Sharp, she was born June 14, 1873, at Carthage. Mo. At the age of eight years she came to Colo, Ia., with her parents in a covered wagon. At the age of ten she came to Coon Rapids, where she lived the rest of her life. Her marriage to Wesley B. Knappenberger took place in Coon Rapids Sept. 10, 1891. She was a member of the First Methodist Church here. Surviving are a son, Earl Knappenberger, Davenport; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Thelma) Fister, Carroll; one granddaughter, Mrs. M.T. Engelen, Okoboji; two great grandchildren, Mark and Marva Lynn Engelen, Okoboji; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Bovee, Milford; and Mrs. Emma Sharpless, Los Angeles, Calif.; and one brother, Mell Sharp, Jamaica. Mrs. Knappenberger was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in January, 1951; a son, Elmer, at the age of 10 years; and another son in infancy.
