Sharp, was born August 4, 1871, in Alexander, Missouri, and died May 29, 1912, at his home in Des Moines, Iowa, age 40 years, 9 months and 25 days. He came to Coon Rapids, Iowa, years ago with his parents and resided in this community until two years ago when he moved to Des Moines. In 1895 he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Sigler. To them were born one son, Alva Sharp. September 29, 1909, he was married again. His second wife being Miss Tillie Burkeman of Perry, Iowa. The deceased leaves to mourn his death his widow, and son, Alva, one brother, Melvin Sharp, of Milford and five sisters: Mrs. Sarah Martin of Wilcotville, Ind., Mrs. Fannie Easton of Des Moines, Mrs. Carrie Knappen - Derger of Coon Rapids, Mrs. Nettie Bovee of Milford and Mrs. Emma Sigler of Council Bluffs, besides many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in Coon Rapids Saturday afternoon conducted by Mr. Barton of the Methodist church and the body interred in Coon Rapids cemetery.
