Description	:	Carrie Maguire passed away at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital, July 15, 1957, after an illness of several weeks. Carrie Ellen Sanford was born August 4, 1877 in Sheffield, Iowa. She grew up in Wisconsin, and taught school there at the age of 16. On July 26, 1899, she was married to Walter Lee Maguire at Vance Creek, Wisconsin. Carrie Ellen Sanford was born August 4, 1877 in Sheffield, Iowa. She grew up in Wisconsin, and taught school there at the age of 16. On July 26, 1899, she was married to Walter Lee Maguire at Vance Creek, Wisconsin. In November 1903, Mr. and Mrs. Maguire came to Chelan via train, steamboat and horse drawn carriage. They resided in the Boyd District until 1933 when they moved to Chelan. She has made her home with their son and family for the past two years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1949. She was a member of Cascade Rebekah Lodge No. 131 for 33 years. She was a Post Noble Grand of that order and received the Decoration of Chivalry in 1951, one of the highest honors given by the Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by two sons; Hugh Maguire, Chelan, and Jack Maguire, Corpus Christi, Texas; nine grandchildren; Geraldine Maguire, Gene Maguire, Mrs. Jack Cherry and Clarice Maguire all of Corpus Christi, Texas; Jim Maguire, Ames, Iowa; Mrs. Jim Stamps, Larry Maguire, Bobby Maguire, all of Chelan; and Mrs. Dan Bailiff, Wenatchee. She leaves eight great-grandchildren. Four sisters and two brothers are surviving of a family of fifteen children. She will be missed greatly by the family and friends. Services will be held today at 2 pm in the Rose Chapel. The Rebekah Lodge and Rev. W. G. Walton will be in charge of services. Interment will be in the Fraternal Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
