John Neely in charge. Burial was in the Springbank cemetery under the direction of Mohrs. Carrie E. Lamm was born March 8, 1866 at Salem, Henry County, Iowa. She was the oldest of a family of seven children, the daughter of Jessie and Rachel Lamm. She moved from Mapleton, Iowa, in November 1884 with her family to Nebraska and settled near Springbank. She was united in marriage Oct. 24, 1889 to Marcus A. Hartson and to this union were born nine children, four of whom, together with her husband preceded her in death. She was married on Nov. 9, 1912 to Alfred C. Poindexter and has since made her home in Sioux City, Iowa, and Ponca, Neb. She received her early education in the public schools of Salem, Iowa. As a wife she was devoted and true; as a mother she was loving and kind; ever leading the way to the highest ideals of life. Mrs. Poindexter has ever been a person of strong religious conviction, and was ever ready to acknowledge her God as Lord of all. She was a quiet unassuming person with a loyal and generous heart. A true neighbor and friend. The memory of this Godly woman will be sacred to all who knew her. She quietly passed away Sunday morning, Mar. 10, 1935 at the age of 69 years and 2 days, and leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Alfred C. Poindexter and five living children, Jessie F. Hartson of Fairmont, Minn., John E. Hartson of Ute, Ia., Mrs. G. Carnell of Ponca, Neb., Earl A. Hartson of South Sioux City, Neb., and Mrs. Lorrain McClure of Fairfield, Ia., three brothers, Wm. E. Lamm of Norfolk, Neb., John T. Lamm of Julesburg, Colo. and Albert J. Lamm of Minneapolis, Minn., and 24 grandchildren and one great grandchild; also a host of neighbors and friends.
