Read More	NOTE: Her maiden name is Larson as stated in her husband Charles obituary. ------------- On Tuesday morning, April 27, Mrs. Charles Kanago was stricken with paralysis and the end came Friday evening, April 30, 1920, at 9:45 o'clock, with all her children gathered around her bedside, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 14 days. Mrs. Carrie Kanago was born in Wermland, Sweden, October 16, 1837, where she grew to womanhood and where she was married to Charles Kanago in 1862. They came to America in the autumn of 1868 and located at Winona, Minn. In the fall of. the following year they moved to Plymouth County, Iowa, and homesteaded in Johnson Township. They endured the rigors and hardships of pioneer days, and labored hard against the drawbacks and disappointments of a new country, and reared a large family of highly respected children. Seven years ago last December they moved from the farm to Akron and made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Delbert Waterbury. On October 10, 1916, Mr. Kanago passed away, but although lonely and a constant sufferer, Mrs. Kanago bore it bravely, believing that He who had promised comfort to the widows, was also able to keep His promises. Mrs. Waterbury's untiring devotion for both her father and mother in their last days of helplessness has won for her a large place in the hearts of all who know her, and, it is, believed, will not be without its reward in the Kingdom of Heaven. Mrs. Kanago was a, charter member of the Adaville United Brethren church, having united with the same a number of years ago. Her faith was bright and steadfast unto the end. She was the mother of six children—four sons and two daughters—John and Charles O., both of Akron, Iowa; Hugo, of Le Mars, Iowa; Myron, of Webster, S. D.; Mrs. Marvin Brown, of Artesian, S. D., and Mrs. Delbert L. Waterbury, of Akron, Iowa. Besides her children, she leaves thirteen grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn their loss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. E. Prewitt, pastor of the Akron Baptist church, at Adaville, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment beside her husband in the Adaville Cemetery. Relatives present from a distance at the funeral were: Myron Kanago, of Webster, S. D.; Mrs. Marvin Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Fay Hodson, of Artesian, S. D.
