May 22, 1929, in Bostwick, Nebraska, she was married to Val Robert Thompson. This union was blessed with three children. Together they lived and farmed all their lives in the Bostwick, Guide Rock and Superior area, moving to Superior in 1962. Carrie was baptized in the United Presbyterian Church, joined the Olive Hill Church as a baby and joined the Methodist Church the summer of 1923. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Val on March 22, 1987, a son Robert on October 7, 1996, and a brother Lylburn E. Wells. Survivors include one son Billie Thompson and his wife Wanda of Superior, Nebraska; one daughter Bettie Kay Isaacson and her husband Robert of Dodge City, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Steve Thompson and his wife Roxanne, Todd Isaacson and his wife Sheri, Terry Scott and her husband Dan, Shari Love and her husband Jim, Pamela Korb, Sandra Oswald and her husband Eric and Kim Bayer and her husband Paul; 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at 2 p.m. from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Mark Imel officiating. Music was "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art: with Carol Shambaugh as soloist and accompanist. Pallbearers were Steve Thompson, Paul Bayer, Todd Isaacson, Jim Love, Corey Scott and Troy Scott. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements.
