CASSIE DIZE CLAIMED BY DEATH Succumbed At Early Hour Last Saturday Morning Funeral services Were Held Monday Mrs. Cassie A. Dize, one of the best known and dearly loved residents of this city, died at her home on Cove Street, at an early hour last Saturday morning. She had been in poor health for some time past, having suffered a severe fall about two years ago from which she never fully recovered, and gradually grew weaker until the end came on Saturday. Mrs. Dize was eighty-four year of age. She was the widow of the late Fieldy Dize, well-known Crisfield seafood dealer. Born and reared in this community, she lived here practically her entire life. A member of one of the oldest and most highly respected families in this section, she was always prominently identified in the affairs of her own neighborhood. She was a woman of sterling character, and exemplified the true spirit of christianity in her daily life. She was a member of Mount Pleasant M. P. Church and took an active interest in the affairs of that organization until the infirmities of age prevented further active participation. The deceased is survived by one son, Mr. Edward R. Dize, of Crisfield, and one daughter, Mrs. W. W. Cheek, of Arlington, N.J. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the late home on Monday, conducted by the Rev. W. L. Hoffman, pastor of Mount Pleasant M. P. Church, and her body laid to rest in the Crisfield cemetery.
