Love, true love is the highest and holiest passion and power of Christian Faith. Home, the Christian home is its haven, the place of its truest expression, the one place for its real culture and glory. A Mother, a Christian mother is the heart of this home-life, the embodiment of the noblest trait of Christian faith, the expression of this heavenly gift of grace, as St. Paul Says: "Now abideth faith, hope, love, but the greatest of these is love. The dearest friend you will ever find, is not a sister, brother kind, but one whose love is daily shown, in toils and labors of her own, It's Mother, dear Mother. Though she may not be with us hence, we feel her spirit yet, somehow, does hover so near us, as this day we bring, with grateful hearts a flower fair, for Mother, our dear Mother, Death has claimed out of our midst such a faithful wife, daughter and mother, suddenly and unexpected. It is Mrs. Katharina Maria Stutt, nee Tobiassen, born March 2, 1882 in Wayne township, Jones county. Iowa. oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Tobiassen. In her infancy she was baptized on June 10th in the name of the Triune God by Rev. Chr. Mardorf, by whom she was later, at the age of 15 confirmed in Wayne Zion's Ev. Lutheran church and renewed her baptismal vow in making a good profession before many witnesses on Palm Sunday, April 11th, 1807. She was united to Mr. Edward Stutt, the now mourning husband, on Jan. 28, 1904. Four children were born to this union, which all survive their mother. For several years the deceased was ailing, but however was able to be about her daily toils and labors. Last Thursday she entered the John McDonald Hospital at Monticello with tonsillitis and had her throat treated and hoped to return home Saturday, when complications set in and her condition became alarming. An Immediate operation was advised by the attending physician, but it was too late. Her entire system was poisoned to such an extent, that an operation proved to be fruitless. She was bodily and spiritually tenderly cared for and well prepare for the worst to come at 5 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, March 27th. She leaves in deep sorrow, and is survived by her husband, Mr. Edward Stutt and four children, Edna, Fred, Harry and Alvina, her mother, Mrs. George Tobiassen, brothers, Michael, Henry, Tobias; sisters, Mrs. Will Stutt. Mrs. Hayo Schoon and Miss Emma Tobiassen, and their respective families, all of Wayne township, and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Stutt was a modest and virtuous wife and mother. Her cheerful and kind, disposition as friend and neighbor is an acknowledged trait of her character. Her sojourn on earth numbers; 43 years, and 25 days. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 30th at 10 o'clock at the home of mourning and 10:30 at the Wayne Zion's Luth. church. The services were conducted by her Pastor Rev. J. Willms assisted by Rev. Chat Mardorf. Final interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. O mother mine, we'll miss thee more than any words can tell. While memory mints her golden ore, I journey to that farther shore Where blooms continuous asphodel. Then, when I've crossed the surging tide And anchored on the other side! With Christ forever, I'll abide- And mother, our dear mother. Peace be to her ashes.
