Description	:	Nov 3, 1893 - Carroll Sentinel - Mrs. Henry Scharnweber was returning home when she was suddenly stricken down with a stroke of paralysis which proved fatal and died within a half hour after arriving home. Previous to her sudden call to the immortal throne Mrs. Scharnweber was apparently in the best of health and at noon prepared dinner for the family. Read More	Nov 3, 1893 - Carroll Sentinel - Mrs. Henry Scharnweber was returning home when she was suddenly stricken down with a stroke of paralysis which proved fatal and died within a half hour after arriving home. Previous to her sudden call to the immortal throne Mrs. Scharnweber was apparently in the best of health and at noon prepared dinner for the family. After dinner was over she came to town, made purchases in several stores, starting on her return home somewhere between three and four o'clock, carrying seveal small bundles in her arms. Just before the railroad track near the mill, she commenced to stagger and fell against a box car that was standing on the track, rebounding, the afflicted woman fell and rolled toward the ditch which runs along the north side of the crossing. Kind friends immediately went to her assistance and she was carried into Mr. Bixbys house near the knitting factory. Word was immediately sent to the family and medical assistance summoned. From there she was taken home on a stretcher. She never regained consciousness and lived only 30 minutes after being taken home. There was no one at home but the children. Mr Scharnweber, accompanied by his son Willie had gone hunting the fore part of the week, never realizing that the final separation between husband and wife was near and that his departure on his tour of pleasure was the last parting that would ever occur between them. A courier was immediately sent out to look him up and found the party up near Jolly. Mr Scharnweber started at once for home but arrived only in time to gaze upon the lifeless form of the wife who had shared with him the joys of a long wedded happiness. The shock was terrible to the stricken family and more especially so to Mr. Scharnweber who seemed hardly able to bear up under his terrible grief. The deceased leaves a family of seven children, four boys and three girls, who as yet have hardly had time to realize that they have been forever bereft of the care of a loving mother. The afflicted family have the untold sympathy of the entire community in their sudden bereavement. The funeral of Mrs. Henry Scharnweber occured Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock and was attended by a large number of sympathizing friends.
