He suffered a paralytic stroke Tuesday afternoon shortly after lying down to rest and 1 h a d been in a critical condition since. The body is at the Huffman Funeral home awaiting funeral arrangements. Mr. Scharnweber was the father of William Scharnweber, secretary of the Carroll Chamber of Commerce. Two of his sons, Anson and Henry Scharnweber, jr., were called here last evening from Dakota by their father's serious illness. He is also survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. John Drees and Mrs. H.K. Stallman. Jan 3, 1936 - Funeral services for Henry G Scharnweber, who passed away at 11 o'clock yesterday morning at his home will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at St Pauls Lutheran church. Rev A.J. Mueller, pastor, will conduct the services. A short service will be held at the Scharnweber home at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the city cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Kroeger, Henry Plahn, John Platt, C.H. Claussen, Jacob Sievers, and C.J. Subbert. Mr Scharnweber, who was 88 years of age, was born in Germany on March 10 1847. He came to America with his parents and spent his boyhood days in Davenport, IA. He moved to Tama county in 1870 and lived there for six years. In 1876 he moved to Carroll county, where he had since resided. Miss Catherine Ahlers became his bride in 1869. They became the parents of nine children. The living are: Anson F and Henry G Scharnweber of Mitchell, S.D.; Mrs L.C. Klien (Caroline) of Orlando, FL; William H and Mrs J.J. Drees (Louise) of Carroll. The following children are deceased: Anna, Dora, Gus, & Emma. His first wife passed away in 1893. He & Margaret Harms were married in 1894. They had two children: Mrs W.A. Sweat (Edythe) of Melbourne, FL and Mrs H.K. Stallman (Hilda) of Carroll, who with their mother survive. There are 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
