A lingering illness, grave during the past week, shortly before noon Monday claimed Mrs. Nicholas Ronin, 75, at her home in Fremont, Neb. and brought grief to many relatives and friends, several of whom reside in Sycamore. Mrs. Ronin -- Katherine Ahern before her marriage -- had been a resident of Sycamore for many years before removal to Freemont. Her brother and sister-in-law, T. J. Ronin and Miss Kate Ronin, still reside in this city. Katherine Ahern, the daughter of the Daniel Aherns, was born in Ireland in August of 1860, eldest of seven children, and accompanied her family to this country ads a young girl. She was wed to Nicholas Ronin at DeKalb in 1881, four sons being born to that union who now survive with the father. They are George, James, Charles and Jay. Mrs. David Morphy of DeKalb, Mrs. R. J. Snow and Mrs. Joseph Montgomery on California are surviving sisters. One brother Jack is also left to mourn. Her last visit to Sycamore came in Autumn when she and her husband attended the Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Ronin here. Her local brother and sister were in Fremont at the bedside when death came. The rest of her family is buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sycamore, DeKalb County, IL
