Description	:	Catherine Ann Harrington Thatcher was born 28 Dec 1841 in Gallia County, Ohio. She was the first child of Nero C. Harrington and Charlotte Cooper Harrington. The family moved to Van Buren County, Iowa a few years later, then to Pottawattamie County, Iowa. In 1857 when Catherine was about 15 years old, the family came west by wagon train on the Nobles Trail to Shasta County, California. Catherine's father "took up" land on Bear Creek which included what is now the Parkville Cemetery. Catherine Harrington married Ezekial Thomas Thatcher 12 Feb 1859 in Shasta County, Calif. They made their home on his land adjacent to the Harringtons and including what is now part of Parkville Cemetery. In the 1870's they purchased the Pine Grove Ranch near Shingletown, Shasta Co. Calif. and continued operating the existing Pine Grove Hotel and adjacent corrals. Ezekial and Catherine had 11 children, many of which are buried in the Thatcher plot in Parkville Cemetery. Catherine Ann Harrington Thatcher died 23 May 1924 at the Pine Grove Ranch, Shasta, Calif. She is buried next to her husband Ezekial and surrounded by many other family members. Catherine's younger sister Climena Harrington Klotz was the first burial in Parkville Cemetery. Catherine's younger brother Morgan Strange Harrington is buried next to their sister Climena. Their maternal grandfather Cunningham Sample Cooper is buried in the center of Parkville Cemetery.
