Description	:	Climena Grace Harrington (Klotz) was born 2 Dec 1847 in Des Moines, Van Buren, Iowa. She was the 4th child and second daughter born to Nero C. Harrington and Charlotte Cooper Harrington. Sometime between 1849 and 1855, the family moved to Council Bluffs (then called Kanesville), Iowa. In 1857, when Climena was about10 years old, the family came west by wagon train on the Nobles Trail to Shasta County, California. Climena Harrington (14) married John Klotz (27) 7 Oct 1862 in Shasta County, Calif. He was the younger brother of Shasta County lumberman Rudolph Klotz. Climena Harrington Klotz gave birth to a daughter, Climena Grace Klotz, on 4 May 1864 at the Klotz Mill in Shingletown, Shasta, Calif. Sadly, Climena Harrington Klotz died 11 May 1864 presumably due to complications of childbirth. She was buried on her parents' land, the first burial in what would become Parkville Cemetery. Her grave marker has an erroneous death year of 1863. The correct death year, 1864, has been verified by her death notice published in the Shasta Courier and Sacramento Bee newspapers. We can only guess that maybe the grave marker was purchased at a later date and an error was made. Climena's older sister Catherine Harrington Thatcher (Mrs. Ezekial Thatcher) is buried in the southeast corner of Parkville Cemetery. Climena's younger brother Morgan Strange Harrington is buried next to her. Climena's maternal grandfather Cunningham Sample Cooper is buried in the center of Parkville Cemetery.
