Description	:	Catherine was born at South Side NS December 26 1845. She was the daughter of William Brannen (1807-1897) and Hannah Duncan (1811-1862 She is shown in Centreville church records as having been baptized by Rev. Brown in either 1856 or 7. She married David Duncan (1837-1920) son of Samuel Duncan (1800-1860) and Grizelda Crowell (1808-1883) June 17 1865 on Cape Sable Island. They settled in West Head and had four children They appear in the 1881 census living on Cape Sable Island. He was a fisherman. There were four children at home. The 1891 census shows David as a... She was the daughter of William Brannen (1807-1897) and Hannah Duncan (1811-1862 She is shown in Centreville church records as having been baptized by Rev. Brown in either 1856 or 7. She married David Duncan (1837-1920) son of Samuel Duncan (1800-1860) and Grizelda Crowell (1808-1883) June 17 1865 on Cape Sable Island. They settled in West Head and had four children They appear in the 1881 census living on Cape Sable Island. He was a fisherman. There were four children at home. The 1891 census shows David as a fisherman with four children living at home. Estella age 24, Thomas age 23, James age 22 and Andrew age 17. The boys were all listed as fishermen. Catherine Brannen Duncan appears in the 1901 census as age 56 married to David a fisherman. No children were at home. In the 1911 census there is a grandson Samuel Duncan age 9 living with them. She died October 31 1915 and is buried in the Evergreen cemetery Lower Clark's Harbour. Her husband outlived her by five years. He died January 30 1920.
