KATHERINE (FRANK) BANGERT 1890-1988 - Katherine Bangert and her husband worked on the sugar beet farms for a number of years until farming on their own in Laurel, Billings and Forsyth. When she left the farm, she moved to Laurel. In 1982, she moved to Western Manor Nursing Home. She loved the outdoors working in the garden and fields and taking care of her family. Mrs. Bangert, 98, of 4945 King Ave. W., died Tuesday in Western Manor Nursing Home of natural causes. She was born in Kautz, Russia, a daughter of George and Eva Frank. She came to the United States with her parents, settling in Lincoln, Neb, and later moved to Montana where she worked in sugar beet fields in Huntley and Laurel. In 1908, she married Fred Bangert in Laurel; he died in 1944. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pete (Lydia) Hart/Hardt of Billings; three sons, Fred of Arizona, Henry of Laurel and Lawrence of Belfrey; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
