Description	:	Catherine E. Hoffman was born in Germany, January 1st, 1816, and departed this life June 26, 1894, aged 78 years, 5 months, and 25 days. Her husband, Michael Hoffman, died in August 1874, nearly 20 years since. Settling in this community nearly a half century ago, she shared in the privations and sacrifices of pioneer life; but patiently and bravely she met and endured them. Read More	Catherine E. Hoffman was born in Germany, January 1st, 1816, and departed this life June 26, 1894, aged 78 years, 5 months, and 25 days. Her husband, Michael Hoffman, died in August 1874, nearly 20 years since. Settling in this community nearly a half century ago, she shared in the privations and sacrifices of pioneer life; but patiently and bravely she met and endured them. She embraced religion when but a child and joined the Lutheran church. About 34 years since she became identified with the church of the United Brethren in Christ, of which she was an honored and faithful member at her death. She was a great lover of the bible, and her kind Christian spirit and life held the esteem of her neighbors all these years. Her health has been delicate for years, and for months she has patiently lingered on the shores of time, but with a strong desire to go and be with Christ which is far better. "She rests from her labors, and her works do follow her." She leaves three daughters, four sons, with other relatives and many friends who mourn their loss. The funeral services occurred last Thursday from the church at Six Corners, conducted by Rev. J. W. Lilly, and Rev. C. M. Eberly assisting.
