Description	:	Catherine Kane Ford Mrs. Catherine Kane Ford was born at Baldwin, Iowa on January 17, 1881. She passed away in St. Josephs Hospital at Mitchell on March 2, 1966. She was the daughter of Martin Kane and Mary Griffen. She came to South Dakota in 1906. She was united in marriage to Martin Ford in 1908, and resided on a homestead five miles south of Letcher until 1947, at which time they moved to Letcher, where she resided until her death. Read More	Catherine Kane Ford Mrs. Catherine Kane Ford was born at Baldwin, Iowa on January 17, 1881. She passed away in St. Josephs Hospital at Mitchell on March 2, 1966. She was the daughter of Martin Kane and Mary Griffen. She came to South Dakota in 1906. She was united in marriage to Martin Ford in 1908, and resided on a homestead five miles south of Letcher until 1947, at which time they moved to Letcher, where she resided until her death. To this union, three sons and two daughter were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, her husband and a grandson. She is survived by three sons, Lyle of Santa Clara, Calif., Martin of Garden Prairie, Ill.; Raymond of Rapid City; three daughters, Mrs. George (Mae) Link of Watertown; Mrs. Alvin (Catherine) Rudd, and Ellen of Letcher; a foster son, Leonard Kane of Letcher; four grandchildren and one brother, Simon Kane of Mitchell. She was a member of St. Scholastica's Church, the Alter and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary until illness for her to become inactive. Funeral services were held at St. Scholastica's Catholic Church on March 7 at 10:00a.m. with Rev. Father Philip Russo officiating. Interment was made in the Letcher Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Arnold Koepke, Clarence Godber, Henry Tapken, Glen McClane, Leo Mernaugh and Dan Morgan. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ladies Altar Society.
