She was born on a farm in Missouri Valley, Iowa, on May 27, 1921, to the late Charles and Mary (Walsh) O'Rourke. Pat attended country school and high school in Missouri Valley, and then College of St. Mary, where she earned her teaching degree. From there she went on to teach students in a country school. Read More	Catherine Patricia "Pat" (O'Rourke) Shea Catherine "Pat" Patricia (O'Rourke) Shea, passed away October 23, 2018. She was born on a farm in Missouri Valley, Iowa, on May 27, 1921, to the late Charles and Mary (Walsh) O'Rourke. Pat attended country school and high school in Missouri Valley, and then College of St. Mary, where she earned her teaching degree. From there she went on to teach students in a country school. She married Victor Shea on April 11, 1942, and lived on a dairy farm in Neola, Iowa. Pat and Vic had 6 children, Timothy Shea, who passed away in 1966, Thomas (Violet) Shea, of Council Bluffs, Jeanine (Cirillo), of Broomfield, Colo., Dennis (Angela) Shea, of Council Bluffs, Michael (Gaylene) Shea, of Harlan, Iowa, and Joanne Shea Snyder, who passed away in 1987. After her children were raised, she went on to teach at Underwood schools for 25 years. She spent many years teaching religious education and formation, and tutoring children. She never stopped teaching and was a mother and a friend to many. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Irene Green; brother, Donald O'Rourke; husband, Victor Shea, who passed away in 1991; and husband Donald Shea, whom she married in 1993, and passed away in 2008; great-granddaughter, Chloe Shea; step-son, Jon Shea; son-in-law, Tom Cirillo. Pat is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rita Gubbels, and Sr. Jeanne O'Rourke, RSM, both of Omaha, Neb.; brother, Rev. Charles O'Rourke, SSC., of Bellevue, Neb.; nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary, Friday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation until 8 p.m., at St. Patrick Church, 4 Valley View Drive, Council Bluffs. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, 10 a.m., also at Church. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Neola, Iowa, followed by a luncheon, at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce Street, in Council Bluffs. Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Church, Sisters of Mercy or Columban Fathers.
