Read More	Mrs. Henry Longbine Expires Suddenly We are called upon this week to chronicle the passing of Mrs. Henry Longbine, which occurred at her home near Middle Branch on Saturday morning at 5 o'clock. Mrs. Longbine had been failing for some time, although her immediate family did not consider death so near. Her passing was due to a stroke of paralysis and she lived but a short time after the attack. Her passing removes another one of the old settlers of this community. Catherine Rentzel was born at Hessevlanetad, Germany on April 4, 1836 and died on February 18, 1928 at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 14 days. She came with her parents to Illinois and settled at the city of Mendota, where she lived for a number of years. On September 24, 1876 she was united in marriage to Henry Longbine at Perkins Grove, Illinois. To this union were born seven sons and two daughters. Four of the sons died in early manhood. With her husband she came to Nebraska, later moving to Dickinson county, Kan., where they lived for 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Longbine then removed to Nebraska, residing near Middle Branch, where the deceased spent the last 15 years of her life. Mrs. Longbine was a member of the German Reform church and was a true Christian woman. She had a number of friends in this immediate vicinity, who will deeply regret her departure from this life. Besides her husband, the surviving relatives are three sons, Henry of Crocker, Mo.; Charles of Creighton and John of Middle Branch; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Tyler of Page, Nebr.; Mrs. Henry Lambert of Orchard, Nebr.; one brother, Phillip Rentzel of Neligh, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Halbert, Odebolt, Iowa; Mrs. Annie Luft of Sac City, Ia. and twelve grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the home conducted by Rev. Littrell, pastor of the M.E. church in Creighton. Friends gathered from both far and near to pay their last respects to this devoted wife and mother. The remains were interred in Greenwood cemetery. The sympathy of all goes out to this family in their hours of deep grief.
