"C-Jack" Langley, 81, passed away at Pitt County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, and is now in the arms of his Lord and finally at rest. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11 am in Pinewood Memorial Park with David McDowell officiating. Mr. Langley was born and reared in the Pactolus area near Greenville. "C-Jack" Langley, 81, passed away at Pitt County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, and is now in the arms of his Lord and finally at rest. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11 am in Pinewood Memorial Park with David McDowell officiating. Mr. Langley was born and reared in the Pactolus area near Greenville. He enlisted twice in the Navy serving on the battleship USS Iowa and also served in the Army Air Force Reserves. He received honorable discharge for his country. Mr. Langley for the past 30 years made his home in the Grimesland community of Pitt County. Due to poor health, he moved to Tar River Manor Nursing Home where he lived for the past two years. Mr. Langley was an avid fisherman and spent many a days on the water with his boat where he enjoyed catching fish and being a part of nature. He also enjoyed playing the guitar in his younger years. Though he enjoyed many hobbies, his true love was helping others and caring for his family for whom he loved very much. In the latter years of his life, Mr. Langley found God by giving his heart to his Lord and Savior. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene McKeel Langley in 1994. He is survived by his: one son, Tim Langley, of Greenville; daughters, Patricia Langley, of Greenville, and Wanda Carol Avery, of Fountain; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Langley, of Pactolus, and Doug Langley, of Grimesland; and three sisters, Janet Rogers, of Greenville, Lillian O'Mary, and Louise Balafas, of Ayden. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
