Read More	Cecil Parker Hawkesworth Halifax Herald 6/26/2002 HAWKESWORTH, Cecil Parker - 83, Woodville, Kings Co., passed away Sunday, June 23, 2002, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Scarsdale, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Parker and Jennie (Hirtle) Hawkesworth. He worked on the farm until the outbreak of the Second World War, when he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces where he was trained as a cook and he served from 1941-1946. After his discharge from the army, he obtained a position at Acadia University Dining Hall, retiring in 1984 as Head Chef at Wheelock Dining Hall after 38 years of employment. He was a member of Woodville United Baptist Church; The Royal Canadian Legion Lumsden Branch 74, Wolfville and the Hillcrest Lodge 93, A.F. & A.M., New Germany for over 50 years. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and reading. He is survived by his wife, the former Hildred (Mossman_Hiltz) Hawkesworth; sons, Angus and Glenn (Julie); grandsons, Luke and Kyle, all of Wolfville; stepdaughters, Janet (Mark) Cornelius, Dianne (Gary) Dauphinee and Esther Barkhouse, all of Woodville; seven stepgrandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; sisters, Janetta (William) Dexter, Hampton, Annapolis Co.; Hazel Foster, Parkdale, Lunenburg Co.; brother, Dr. Earle (Elsie) Hawkesworth, Edmonton, Alta.; sister-in-law, Marion Hawkesworth, Wolfville; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret MacFayden Hawkesworth; sister, Lila; brothers, Claude, Robert, James and Bruce. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today with family in attendance this evening only. A Royal Canadian Legion service will begin at 6:15 p.m., followed by a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, all in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Wolfville, Rev. Murray Shaw officiating. Burial in Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. Family flowers only, memorial donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Kings Branch, Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Woodville United Baptist Church Building Fund.
