Description	:	Cecil Newhouse, son of J.A. and Amy Newhouse, was born at Oregon City, Oregon, January 17, 1904, and passed away at his home ten miles southwest of Nelson, February 10th, 1938, at the age of 34 years and 24 days. He came to Nuckolls county (sic) with his parents when he was but four years of age and lived for some time three miles south-east of Nelson and grew to manhood in the community and received his early education at the Brown school, and later attended the Nelson high school. Read More	Cecil Newhouse, son of J.A. and Amy Newhouse, was born at Oregon City, Oregon, January 17, 1904, and passed away at his home ten miles southwest of Nelson, February 10th, 1938, at the age of 34 years and 24 days. He came to Nuckolls county (sic) with his parents when he was but four years of age and lived for some time three miles south-east of Nelson and grew to manhood in the community and received his early education at the Brown school, and later attended the Nelson high school. He moved with his parents in 1920 to the farm on which he and his own family have lived for the past four years. He united with the Beulah Reformed Presbyterian church (sic) as a young man and later transferred his membership to the Presbyterian church (sic) at Nelson, where he and his family have attended for the past number of years. He was united in marriage to Anna Koester on May 29, 1929. To this union two children were born, Maurine aged six years, and LeVon aged four years. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife and two children, Maurine and LeVon; his father and mother, J.A. and Mrs. Amy Newhouse of Nelson, Nebraska; one brother, Roddy of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Laurine Klugherz of Hastings, Nebraska, and Mrs. Margie Ruttman of Mitchell, Nebr; his grandmother, Mrs. Etta Jones of Nora, Nebr.; and a great many other relatives and friends in the community in which he spent most of his life. An out-of-door funeral service was held at one o'clock at the home ten miles south-west of Nelson, where a host of friends had gathered to pay their respect to the bereaved families. Rev. John Caldwell was in charge, reading selected scripture, followed with prayer. A choir composed of Oscar Swanson, Mrs. John Caldwell, Mrs. F.A. Scherzinger, Mrs. Fritz Montgomery and F.A. Scherzinger, sang "Going Down The Valley," At thwo (sic) o'clock a service was held at the church, Rev. Caldwell presiding and with the same group singing Safe in The Arms of Jesus, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere, and Asleep in Jesus. Interment was in the Nelson cemetery.
