Their other children were left in the care of a friend while Mr. and Mrs. Ruttman were at the hospital. Mrs. Ruttman and the little son will be brought here for burial, but the arrangements are not yet completed. The deceased is the younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Newhouse. The latter with Mrs. Frank Ruttman went out there Monday night Mrs. Anne Newhouse and J.A. Newhouse taking them as far as North Platte, where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Klugherz (Laurine Newhouse.) Although Billy Ruttman, four, died Tuesday as the result of fatal burns Monday night, his mother, Mrs. Margery Mae Ruttman, 34, died at 10 o'clock Thursday without having been told of the death of her son. Twin daughters who were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ruttman at a hospital here Monday, are among the survivors. Billy was brought here Monday afternoon by neighbors after he suffered severe burns from lighted tractor fuel which had spilled over his legs. He and his playmates had lighted the oil and the can later tipped over, and the contents were poured on him. Mrs. Stella Kealey who was taking care of little Billy and his brothers and sister, suffered serious burns on her hands while she removed the burning clothes from him. The father was in Scottsbluff at the time of the accident staying with Mrs. Ruttman. Following a short service at Fort Laramie this (Friday) morning at 10 o'clock, the two bodies will be sent to Nelson, Nebraska where the Ruttmans formerly lived. Mrs. Ruttman was secretary-treasurer of the Mother's Club of Fort Laramie and was a member of the Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian church here.--Scottsbluff Star-Herald, April 17th Margary (sic) Mae Newhouse was born March 23, 1908 at Forest Grove, Oregon and passed away at a Scottsbluff, Nebraska hospital April 16, 1942 at the age of 34 years and 24 days. When 8 months of age she moved to the vicinity of Nelson, Nebraska where she spent her childhood years. After graduating from high school she attended Business College at Hastings, and taught school two years. She was united in marriage to Howard C. Ruttman of Nelson, Nebraska on January 1st, 1930. To this union seven children were born: Laurman Keith who died at birth, Jeryne Ann, age 9, Gordon Monell, age 8, Ronald Frank, age 6, William Alan, age 4 who preceded his mother in death by two days, and twin daughters born two days before their mother's death. After farming six years near Nelson, Nebraska Mr. and Mrs. Ruttman and family moved to the North Platte Valley, living at Mitchell and Fort Laramie, at which place they were residing at the time of her death. Mrs. Ruttman united with the Beulah Reformed Presbyterian Church when 13 years of age, later changing her membership to the First Presbyterian Church of Nelson, Nebraska. Survivors, beside the husband and children are Mrs. Ruttman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Newhouse of Nelson, Nebraska, one brother, Roddy Newhouse of Wichita, Kansas and one sister, Mrs. Laurine Klugherz of Torrington, Wyoming.
