Johnson conducted the services. Pallbearers were grandsons: Lawrence Lee Grossart, Rex Grossart, Victor Grossart, Glenn Grossart, William Grossart, Jr. and Rollin Thompson. Mrs. Herbert Galitz and Mrs. J. C. Wilson sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" with Miss Kathleen Wilson, pianist. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery. Mrs. Cecilia Grossart, 92, died at a Grand Island hospital Sunday morning about 5:15. She had been in the hospital as a medical patient for nearly a month. Mrs. Grossart was born Dec. 24, 1858 in Butterfield, Scotland. She was married to John Grossart Sr., on April 25, 1879, in Scotland. They came to the United States on June 22, 1885. She was a member of the Methodist church. Since the death of her husband on Jan 31, 1934, she had made her home with two daughters, Mrs. Lena Bloom and Mrs. Jessye Vincent, both of Grand Island. Eight of her 13 children survive, including five sons, James of Denver, Colo., Lawrence of Sterling, Colo, John Jr. and Dick of Wolbach and George Grossart of Grand Island, and three daughters, Mrs. Edna Campbell, Ogallala, Mrs. Bloom and Mrs. Vincent. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, William, Nels and David, and two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jolls and Mrs. Isabelle Thompson.
