She was married to B.F. Farrel, May 29, 1879, and made her home in Page county practically the remainder of her life. Her husband passed away on May 19, 1933. She leaves to mourn her departure Mrs Bertha Miller of Clarinda, with whom she made her home the most of the last seven years, L.G. Farrell of Dyke, Ia, Clyde C. Farrell, living on the home place, Walter L. Farrell of Clarinda, Mrs Ethel Slaight of Gravity, Iowa, Glade C. Farrell of Bedford, one half-brother, I.D. Long of Council Bluffs, Ia, and two half-sisters, Mrs Carrie Ingram of Hood River, Ore, and Mrs Minnie Pace of Los Angeles, Calif, also 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mrs Farrell united with the New Market Christian church under the pastorate of Roy Snodgrass about thirty years ago. She was an invalid for a number of years and unable to attend services. Mother, home, and heaven are three words that seemingly can not be separated. Mrs Farrell was a lover of home. To her it was a place of recluse and quiet refuge. There comes a time, however, in this life when earthly tabernacles can no longer retain our mothers and they go elsewhere seeking buildings that have [no] foundations. And so it was with Mrs Farrell. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, at the home of Mrs Miller, in charge of Rev Eppard. Burial was in Old Memory cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Jun 27, 1940
