Celia was 5 years old when she moved in 1867 with her parents and brothers, George and Claus to America and settled in Winona, Minnesota. Celia married Hans Frenzen in Manilla, Iowa in May 1881. They had 3 children, Henry, Louis & Frank in Iowa and then moved to Nebraska in 1888 first to a farm north of Central City and then to Nance County, NE. They had 5 more children in Nebraska - Edward, Anna, Emma, Lavida and Arthur. Louis, was born Sept. 12, 1884 and died between 1888 and 1890. He is buried near Central City, NE. From the Fullerton "News-Journal" March 1, 1906, page 1: Celia Frenzen - Died, Sunday, Feb. 25th, Celia, wife of Hans Frenzen, of cancer, aged 43 years, 11 mo. and 3 days. Deceased had been sick a long time and the end was not unexpected. She leaves a husband and several children to mourn her loss. The funeral was held on the 27th, conducted by rev. Pierce. Mr. and Mrs. Grege, mother and father of the late Mrs. Frenzen of Manilla, Ia., Geo. Grege of Central City, a brother of the deceased, and Wm. Grege of Manilla, Ia., were here to attend the funeral. NOTE:Her maiden name was Grage not Grege as reported in the article.
