Huddle Obituary for Cerilda Catherine Myers Valentine from the Circleville Herald of Saturday, January 12, 1929: "DEATH TAKES AGED WIDOW. Mrs. Catherine Valentine Dies Saturday Following Long Illness. Mrs. Catharine Valentine, 75, widow of Amos Valentine, died at her home in Stoutsville at 8 a.m. Saturday after an illness of 14 months from a complication of diseases. She was a native of Pickaway County and was born May 2, 1854, the daughter of George and Mariah Spathe Myers, natives of Pennsylvania. On February 4, 1869, she was married to Amos Valentine, who died some years ago. Surviving are two sons, Amos W. Valentine and George M. Valentine, both of Stoutsville; five grandchildren and one brother, Mahlon Myers, also of Stoutsville. Funeral services for Mrs. Valentine will be held at her residence in Stoutsville on Monday at 2 p.m. with interment in Maple Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Arthur, Clarence, Nelson and Valentine (sic). E. M. Crites, funeral director of Stoutsville, will be in charge of the funeral." From the Lancaster Daily Gazette of January 25, 1929: "VALENTINE ESTATE $15,000. Probate court has appointed A. M. Valentine executor of the estate of Catherine Valentine, late of Stoutsville,without bond. The estate is valued at $15,000 and the real estate $15,000." From the Lancaster Daily Gazette of Thursday, March 14, 1929: "VALENTINE ESTATE $17,343. Catherine Valentine, late of Clear Creek Township, left an estate valued at $17,343.40, an inventory filed in probate court shows. A. M. Valentine is the executor."
