The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, December 28, 1972 ------------------------------------------- Mildred Abigail Jackson was born July 20, 1888, in northern Kansas, the youngest daughter of Andrew Jackson and Fannie I. Williams Jackson. The family moved to Nuckolls County soon after her birth. She received her education in the Nuckolls County schools. Mildred was the youngest in the family, having four older brothers and two older sisters. At the age of 22 years, Mildred Jackson was married to Charles A. Chamberlain on January 19, 1910, at Falls City, Nebraska. To this union were born three children, J. Duane of Lincoln, Esther Kathleen Blackstone of Saratoga, California and Margaret Ann Whiteley of Hastings, Nebraska. Mrs. Chamberlain at an early age was baptized in the Christian faith. She placed her membership with the Nelson Christian Church in 1924. She remained a faithful member to her church throughout her life, which was spent in and near Nelson, Nebraska. Mrs. Chamberlain passed away December 26, 1972, at the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, four brothers, Louis, William, Charles and Arthur and two sisters Belle and Anna, and a grandson, Roger Dee Blackstone. She is survived by her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors. Services were held on Thursday, December 28, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church in Nelson, with Rev. Victor Schwarz officiating. Casket bearers were Gordon Sheets, Floyd Rouse Mc Adamson, Albert Bargen, Walster Williams and Elmer Williams. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Klawitter Funeral Home.
