Lovinger Passes Away at Missoula This community was grieved to learn of the death of Charles A. Lovinger at the home of his mother in Missoula last Tuesday evening, death being due to pneumonia. Mr. Lovinger was called to Missoula by the serious illness of his mother. He had just returned from a several days hunting trip and immediately upon his return was called there. It is thought he contracted a cold while on his trip, which developed into pneumonia. Few in this city knew of his illness until after the news of his death was received. Mr. Lovinger had been a residence of Chouteau county for the past 45 years, with the exception of five years spent in Kalispell. Last spring he was appointed street commissioner and he held this position at the time of his death. Mr. Lovinger was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him and he was a devoted husband and father. He was born Dec. 24, 1879, in Indiana, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Lovinger. He came to Montana with his parents at the age of three years and at the time of his death was 48 years, 10 months and 19 days of age. On July 16, 1905, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary E. Day, of this city, and to this union five sons and two daughters were born, all of whom survive. He was a member of the Methodist church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon. A large number of friends from Loma and Virgelle sections, where he resided, attended the services. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Mary E., and seven children, Floyd, Howard, Dorothy, Frank, Arthur, Ralph and Doris; his mother, Frances E., who is seriously ill; and a brother, Wilbur, of Stanford, Mont., and a large host of friends. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
