Neumann, former Creighton resident and businessman of this city for several years, dropped dead in the hay field at the farm home of his son near Brewster, Nebr. on last Thursday, October 12th. His death was attributed to heart trouble. The deceased was born in Henry county, Ill. on June 15, 1852 and died at Brewster, Nebr. on October 12, 1926 at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 24 days. His death was attributed to heart trouble. The deceased was born in Henry county, Ill. on June 15, 1852 and died at Brewster, Nebr. on October 12, 1926 at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 24 days. He moved to Kansas in early manhood, where he was united in marriage to Mary Florence Townsend on February 4, 1871. To this union seven children were born, two dying in infancy. With his family he moved to Knox county, Nebraska in 1880, where he took up a homestead, later moving to Creighton, where he engaged in the business of operating a meat market, moving from here to Missouri. Mr. Neumann is survived by five children, one daughter and four sons, Marion Neumann of Scotts Bluff, Nebr.; Mrs. C.S. Axford, Plainview, Nebr., Fred Neumann, Brewster, Nebr., Charles Neumann, Bloomfield, Nebr and L.F. Neumann, Plainview, Nebr. Others left to mourn are two sisters and one brother and 17 grandchildren. The remains arrived in Creighton on Wednesday morning and the funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the M.E. church. Rev. Littrell had charge of the services. The remains were interred in the Greenwood cemetery. His wife preceded him in death on March 15, 1926.
