Neumann. He had been in failing health for the past three years from enlargement of the heart. Monday morning he was in as good health as usual and with Mrs. Neumann went to work in the garden. Mr. Neumann was a kind husband and father, was honest and upright in all his dealings and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him. Fredrick Samuel Neumann was born at Cambridge, Henry county, Illinois, November 16, 1862 and passed away Monday, July 8, 1935, aged 72 years, 7 months, 21 days. He had been a resident of this community 48 years, coming to Creighton, Neb. in 1887. He was married to Sophia E. Townsend, July 13, 1889 at Bazile Mills. They lived near Center five years, moved to Bloomfield for six years, then purchased a farm one mile east of Bazile Mills, where they resided several years and later purchased a farm 1 mile north of Bazile Mills. To this union six children were born, three girls and three boys, Mrs. Lucy K. Johnson of Creighton, Mrs. Clara F. Bessert, Winnetoon, Anna R. Ellingson, Roud Valley, Neb., Renard H. Neumann of Gordon, The eldest son, Clarence, passed away in 1918, aged 28 years, Fredrick died in 1898, aged 18 months. Mrs. Neumann preceded him in death August 13, 1916. In 1920 Mr. Neumann was married to Mrs. Emma Bennett at Plainview. They lived in Colorado one year, then retired from farm life and thirteen years ago moved to their home in Winnetoon, where they have since resided. Besides his wife and four children, he is survived by twenty-two grandchildren, one great grandchild and a sister in Illinois. Funeral services will be held from the home Thursday afternoon and at the M.E. Church in Creighton, conducted by Rev. R.B.E. Hill.
