Cocherell Charles Burch Cocherell, son of Alphus and Lonesia Cocherell, was born at South Keosauqua, Iowa, July 2, 1875, passed away at his home suddenly, Wednesday morning February 1, 1939, age 63 years 6 months 29 days. Cocherell Charles Burch Cocherell, son of Alphus and Lonesia Cocherell, was born at South Keosauqua, Iowa, July 2, 1875, passed away at his home suddenly, Wednesday morning February 1, 1939, age 63 years 6 months 29 days. He grew to manhood and attended the public schools in Keosauqua and on November 27, 1900, he was united in marriage with Norma Dot Monroe, of Keosauqua, to this union were born nine children, five of whom died in infancy. Those living are, Mrs. E.H. Burch, of Altus, Okla., Reece, of River Falls, Wis., Mrs. Willa Martin, and Charles, Jr., of Keosauqua. In passing he leaves a beloved wife, the children, three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Umphry, Mrs. James Beck, and Mrs. Clara Parker, of Keosauqua, a brother, Frank Cocherell, of Farmington, 12 grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his death. Mr. Cocherell followed the blacksmith trade for more than 45 years. He was a hale and hearty fellow well met, honored and respected by all who knew him, he became a member of the A.O.U.W. fraternity. In late summer he suffered great pain and suffering by a piece of hot iron striking him in the eye it caused a shock from which he never recovered. On Monday morning he was conscious he could not work longer and gradually failed in strength until the end came Wednesday morning. Charles was known as a home maker and a home lover. A loyal friend, good citizen lovable husband. He will be missed, for his seat will be empty. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday morning, in charge of the Rev. F.M. James.
