Church and interment made in the Coon Rapids Cemetery. The following obituary was read Charles Dennis Clifford, youngest son of Joseph and Mary Clifford, was born in Fremont County, Wisconsin, January 23rd, 1856 Died at his home in Coon Rapids, Iowa, at the age of 72 years, nine months and seven days. When only a small boy. He moved with his parents from Wisconsin to Illinois where they lived a short time, later moving to Tama County, Iowa, where he was left as an orphan at the age of 14. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Elizabeth Wallen , December 17th, 1882. In March of 1883, they moved to Carroll County, making their home on farms near Dedham and Glidden, later moving to a farm in Audubon County, where they made their home until 1914 when they moved to Coon Rapids. He is survived by his wife and six children, two children dying in infancy and Clarence while in the service of his country died at Ft. Riley, Kansas, October 22nd, 1918. The surviving children are Mrs. Alta Haggard and Mrs. Flora Barrett of Audubon County, Mrs. Lenora Textor of Coon Rapids, Elmer and Hermes of Dickinson County, Joe of Audubon County, 12 grandchildren and many other distant relatives and friends. Mr. Clifford is the last of his family. His three brothers Henry, William and Albert and his two sisters, Matilda Stewart and Almira Pratt have all preceded him in death.
