Description	:	Charles Shepard, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Shepard of this city and at one time a resident of this place, died at his home in Osceola Tuesday after a long illness caused by many and various ailments, the direct cause of his death being typhoid fever. Mr. Shepard was about forty-seven years old and leaves a wife and two daughters, besides father, mother, sister and brother. Two daughters had passed away before him. Shepard of this city and at one time a resident of this place, died at his home in Osceola Tuesday after a long illness caused by many and various ailments, the direct cause of his death being typhoid fever. Mr. Shepard was about forty-seven years old and leaves a wife and two daughters, besides father, mother, sister and brother. Two daughters had passed away before him. He was born at Rio, Knox county, Illinois, and for the four or five years proceeding his last illness had lived at Osceola, where be had employment in the civil service as rural mail carrier. The body will be shipped here today noon and interment will be made immediately after its arrival , the funeral services being conducted by the Masons of which order deceased was a member of long and good standing. Mr. Shepard was well known to Villisca people and his demise is a source of deep pain to the hearts of many, many friends. His brother Ed lives at Oakland and will be present at the funeral today.
