Snow was born in Iowa, April 6th, 1860 and moved to Kansas with his parents when a child and for over fifty-five years has lived only a few miles west of town. Until his marriage, he lived at home on what is known as the Snow farm where many a Sunday School picnic, Fourth of July celebration, Old Soldiers Reunion, and school picnics have been held. After his marriage, Oct. 10, 1886 to Miss Lizzie A. Strode, he moved on the adjoining farm, where they have lived over thirty-nine years. Five children came to help make this home happier, but the eldest daughter, Lena, died at the age of ten years. Fred J., who now lives in McCune, is now in a hospital in Parsons with appendicitis. Mrs. Edith Dell of Cincinnati, Ohio, was unable to come on account of an infant son. Mrs. Ruth Crocker of Base Line and Verne at home. There are four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Laura Stocker, who lives on the old home place, and Mr. Frank Snow, just adjourning. Seven years ago he was stricken with paralysis and for the past four years he has been a helpless invalid. Mr. Snow was a member of the Christian church, having united here in 1885. Funeral services were held in the Christian church in this city by Rev. W.E. Babb of Girard and interment made in our beautiful cemetery, just north of town, beside the departed daughter.
