Description	:	Charles (Chuck) Overose, 77, passed away March 25th, 2002, in Spokane, Washington. He was born in East Helena, Montana to Chris and Gertrude (Loveseth) Overose on December 30, 1924. He was raised in Montana and graduated from Stevenson High School, Stevenson, Washington. In 1942, Chuck joined the US Army Air Corps as an aviation cadet where he served as a bombardier in WWII. He accepted a commission on September 2, 1944. He was honored for his service by President Harry Truman. Read More	Charles (Chuck) Overose, 77, passed away March 25th, 2002, in Spokane, Washington. He was born in East Helena, Montana to Chris and Gertrude (Loveseth) Overose on December 30, 1924. He was raised in Montana and graduated from Stevenson High School, Stevenson, Washington. In 1942, Chuck joined the US Army Air Corps as an aviation cadet where he served as a bombardier in WWII. He accepted a commission on September 2, 1944. He was honored for his service by President Harry Truman. Upon his discharge, Chuck returned to Helena, Montana where he attended college at University of Montana. He married Doris Gstohl on November 23, 1947. Chuck worked as a Carpenter Supervisor for 42 years. He helped build many of the dams on the Columbia River, as well as many other dams in the Western United States and Canada. During these years, Chuck and Doris raised five daughters. He retired in Brewster in 1984. Chuck loved his family and had a great passion for the American Legion. As a member of the American Legion, Chuck was Commander of Post 97 for three years, as well as District Commander and Washington State Vice Commander. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents Chris and Gertrude Overose; brother Bernard Overose, daughter Charlotte Overose, grandson Dale Scibold and son-in-law Terry Re. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon and husband Roy Harland, Mead, Washington; Sandra and husband Joe Bamble, Stevenson, Washington; Melody and husband Jim Verbeck, Brewster, Washington; Pattie Re and Virgil Huey, Spokane, Washington. His sister, Norma Evans, Helen, Montana and Donna Ashe, Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Don and Julie Scibold, Justin Re, Jesse Re and Jaime Re Huey, Jason, Lindsey and Kelsey Verbeck and Margaux Gamble. He had four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be at Brewster Cemetery, Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 1:00 pm. A military memorial service will be held at the American Legion in Brewster immediately following. Donations in Chuck's honor may be made to the Brewster American Legion, Post 97.
