Description	:	Obituary, Thursday, March 6, 1952: Funeral service for Charles Edward Stanton, 84, who died Feb. 24, were held Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Sutphen Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. C. M. Rower of Nodaway. The music was by recordings, and in charge of the flowers were Mrs. John Ganion and Mrs. Emmett Miller. Pallbearers were Ray Eberly, Clyde McFarland, John Ganion, Paul Wasson, Glee Lacox and Ivan Hill, and burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. Mr. Stanton, son of Jonathan and Lucy Stanton, was born Oct. 1, 1867, in Boone, IA, and with the exception of his early childhood and the last few years, he spent his life in Taylor County. He lived 40 years on the homestead where he died. He was married to Sarah E. Ewart, preceded him in death in 1945. Married March 7, 1894. To them were born two children, Geo. M. Stanton, Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Else, Nodaway. There are also eight grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
