Description	:	Charles Edward Nestor was born March 31, 1934, in Nestorville, West Virginia to Edra Gainer and Teddy Clyde Nestor. He departed this life on January 20, 2018 after a brief illness. His childhood was spent on the family farm where his maternal grandparents and parents created a beautiful self sustaining life. Charlie, as he was affectionately known, followed every step his grandfather made. Charlie, as he was affectionately known, followed every step his grandfather made. He was known to use a headlamp to plow well into the night during planting season.A lifelong learner, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of West Virginia. Ever after he followed the Mountaineers sporting events with great enthusiasm.In August 1952 he married his High School sweetheart, Virginia Clara Marsh, and they remained devoted to one another throughout the 65 years of their marriage.Drafted into the United States Army in 1956, he served with the Allies in post World War II Germany for two years. Clara joined him and they were able to enjoy traveling and exploring Europe when he was off duty.Upon returning stateside he began his career with Agrico Chemical Company where he achieved the position of Southeast Division Manager where he oversaw operations in thirteen states. His work took them to many locations through the years. In Baltimore, Maryland, they welcomed a daughter, Marsha in 1959 and then in Weymouth, Massachusetts a son,Chuck, in 1963. As he continued his climb up the corporate ladder they spent time in Cincinnati, Ohio, Greensboro, North Carolina, and Germantown, Tennessee.In 1969 he relented to his true calling and left the business world behind to attend Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Here he would earn his Master of Divinity and a PhD in Theology. While enrolled in seminary he served congregations in Proctor, Texas and Santo, Texas. In 1975 he received a call from First Baptist Church in Coldwater, Mississippi and in 1978 from First Baptist Church in Bruce, MS, where he served until his retirement in 2000. They moved to LaGrange, Tennessee, to enjoy a slower lifestyle.However, not being one to rest on his laurels, he moved on to his third career working for Shelby Systems as a program consultant and took great pride in assisting church office personnel as they navigated software programs. He retired again in 2015 and has enjoyed teaching his Sunday school Class at First Baptist Church in Grand Junction, Tennessee. He was able to continue this right up until his hospitalization on January 9th.His influence has been great and widespread. The lives he has touched would be too numerous to count. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Clara, daughter Marsha Cannon (Tim), and son Chuck Nestor (Karan Ann). Grandchildren, Creed Cannon, Fulton Cannon, Clara Frances Cannon and Charles Edward Nestor, III. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, January 21st in Bruce at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00A.M. with the family receiving friends from 10:00A.M. till service time. There will also be a service at Grand Junction Baptist Church at 4:00P.M. Monday with the family receiving friends there from 3:00 P.M. till service time.. He will be laid to rest at Mount Zion Cemetery in Nestorville, WV on January 23rd. “His Lord said unto him, well done thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:21. Funeral services entrusted to Parker Memorial Funeral Homes of Bruce.
